Friends in BCG: does BCG hire at the PL level? If yes, how many years would someone from B4 need in a Manager role to make the transition?

Yeah we hire lateral PLs. However, PL is arguably one of the toughest roles to be in and being a lateral only makes it that much more difficult. You will have more success coming in earlier as a consultant with tenure and be on track for 1 year promote to PL

like

I have a colleague who was just promoted to PL after a year in role (was a manager at B4, entered BCG as a C2). I believe that he interviewed as normal and was given a 12 month tenure credit. Gave him a chance to get his feet wet at BCG without needing to manage day one.

Thanks BCG1! For tenured Consultants, is the process same as applying for a post-MBA consultant role? Would appreciate some pointers on how to go about it. Have been referred internally but it says it’s for a fresh Consultant role

As someone that did this, I would say take the time at C2. It’s a good learning opportunity to become BCG-ed

When should a stub start getting worried about not having much work and low billable hours?
I’ve asked for work but no luck. I know they say this is normal for a stub but when should I start getting worried and consider looking for exit options? Fyi, I like my practice group, so I don’t want to change to a different group within my firm, hence would have to lateral, if I have to. Also, other co-1st years are churning in high hours.

NFW- I just had a good laugh. Currently, in accenture. I have had very bad billable hours and not much achievement this fiscal year. I am worried of getting fired, so i applied for another job. Got offered may be 5% above my current pay with 5k bonus, but in lower level at Deloitte. I think working lower level will give me more opportunities to learn as i think i have lot to learn. I made decision based on my gut and accepted the offer. I have not talked to anyone on accenture side yet. What you think?

Dentist, made appt via Zocdoc to see a dentist that was in network. Another dentist at the location saw me instead who was out of network. I have text evidence they said it would be covered before visit. Claim was denied - asking for ~500 dollars.

Saw a specialist who’s office staff verified my insurance would fully cover the claim. Get the claim, says they are out of network. Owe 600.
