Generally speaking, what would you expect a mid level transactional associate to be able to do? How autonomously would you expect them to be able to work?

For some context, I’m interviewing for a mid level associate position at a mid size firm next week so trying to get a feel for what they will expect.

Wow. I have 1 1/2 years of experience and I have done already all what is listed, including managing deals as the sole associate from inception to end (obviously under a partner’s supervision). Hopefully I will be in good shape when I reach the 4-5 years mark!

Hi! I have a quick question and could use some advice:

I have 1 job offer that is an hour away and pays 45k, after negotiations (Research Associate Position at a University) .

I have just interviewed for a position closer to home and a base salary of 65k, but haven’t heard back from them in about 2 days (He said he would make a decision by yesterday and I’ve reached out).
I have to decide on the first offer by Thursday but I haven’t heard back from the second yet. Thoughts on next move?

I'm working in the US under H1B, I got a chance to face an interview for another company. My current company started the PERM application also and results will be out within the next 3 months. How long will my green card application delay if I move to a new company and start to apply for a green card from scratch?

Hello, I worked 1 year as a 'Senior Data Engineer' at 110k base. I then was offered and accepted a role as 'Service Manager' at 155k base where I worked another year. Just recently accepted a 'Data Engineer' job at 155k base but with a larger company (in theory with potential to grow).

I am a Google Certified Professional Data Engineer.

Should I be earning more?

Would I earn more long term if I stayed on as Service Manager?

UPDATE (RE: SoCal Assistant Controller Interview)

So after two weeks of waiting (and giving up on the idea of getting the job really), the recruiter got back to me.

They said due to month-end and quarter-end close they were busy and couldn’t get back to me as quickly for a “good update”.

The recruiter said the CFO enjoyed our call, she, the CFO, will call me next week directly to “discuss some final things”.

Not sure if Im hired or not, but are there any questions about the job, comp (cont.)

Any advice on shifting from association law to commercial real estate in FL?

I've been applying to jobs for months but every position wants at least 2yrs of experience in real estate transactions, usually way more. I'm at 1yr+ doing HOA/condo work but have had no opportunity to do real estate transactions like I expected. Seems like the only way to get the experience is to have nailed a big law gig right out of school and get put into that practice.

Title company just gave me a commitment with 72 B2 exceptions and the first one (after standard) is an unrecorded lease from 1862. Send help.

Do you review the other side’s escrow instructions and provide comments? 4 years in and I’ve never done this. Working for a new partner and she insists on doing so “in case there are competing instructions” but isn’t that the entire point of funding through an escrow agent/title company?
