I recently had an initial interview for a technical recruiter position. The guy on the phone stated that this is not a 9-5 job and long hours are expected. I proceed to ask how much PTO is offered and he said that is not recommend within the first 6 months of working and the harder you work the more PTO you receive. From that conversation, I saw instant red flags. Any thoughts?

I saw some sales managers discussing hiring strategies, especially for entry level roles (e.g. SDR, BDR).

One strategy that came up was having the applicant do 90 minutes of cold calling into real prospects with the hiring manager coaching.

What do you think of this approach? Would be curious to hear from both hiring manager perspectives and from candidate perspectives.

I have a promising interview at a relatively large law firm in my area (+100 attorneys) next week. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.

Has anyone ever asked to renegotiate their salary after starting a job? I’m 2 months into my new job and I have far more responsibilities than what I was told. It’s a lot different than what was relayed in the posting and during the interviews. Additionally, they hired my counter part in as a senior manager which is at least $30k more than what I make. My peer has more experience so I expect that but I feel that I should be paid more, however I don’t want to leave a bad impression… any advice?

Thoughts on Citi's Leveraged Portfolio Group at the Analyst level? I'm curious if anyone has additional details on the group for an Analyst spot. Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.
