What are peoples thoughts on working for a Banking Company in a Product or Tech role? I know there are mixed feelings since it’s not working directly with interest, etc.

If you currently work in banking, what was your reasoning (besides pay)?

If you don’t, would you ever accept an offer if it in a Tech or Product role?

I have a few questions for people in consulting roles (both external/internal).

My partner is in corporate banking, but he wants to switch to a consulting/strategy-based role. I noticed people with those jobs typically have an MBA, and also majority of the job ads in similar roles has MBA as either a requirement or preferred qualification. So:

1) does MBA actually improve someone's chance in getting those roles?
2) are there any good Canadian MBA programs you'd recommend?

What agencies are hiring financial analyst

What can I do outside the office to boost my resume and be a substantially more attractive candidate for top consulting firms in ~12 months time. Working in disputes and valuation role but want to go into management consulting next year (post MBA role). I feel like my job isn’t enough because skills aren’t considered as transferable outside this field.

If I was a second or third choice candidate for a role, and ultimately got an offer, is it fair game to inquire with the recruiter as to why the initial candidates declined? And should this fact weigh into my decision process?

I had my Assessor interview this past week and received a pre-screening questionnaire that asked about dual citizenship status. Because I don't even have a passport for the country I am a dual citizen for, I didn't even think about the possibile complications this could lead to with my application. I've become really jaded about consulting. I find all so often you need to tell the client what they want to hear to keep their business and I feel like so much of the what I recommend doesn't actually get implemented.
