Hi all.
Has anyone in IBM been on bench for more than 4 months here?
I have been on bench for almost 4 months now & have been getting automated mails asking me to get assigned to a project by searching one by myself, else necessary action might be taken.
And are there any chances of being straightaway fired based on these automated mails?
I would genuinely need an advise from someone who is aware of this kind of situation.
Thanks in advance
Anybody going to join TCS hyd on 10th or 12th. ?

Ok be honest, candidates. I really love this set of questions, I’ve been considering shifting my current interview style to these questions - I think they really give you an idea of who this person would be within the work setting. But the questions almost feel too deep for a recruiter to ask. What would you think if a recruiter took a different path and asked these questions instead of the usual ones?

I completely understand how frustrating and disheartening it can feel to receive rejection emails around the holidays. Please know that as a recruiter, I genuinely try to balance the process of selecting the right candidates with being as considerate as possible.
The reality is that we often receive hundreds of applications—sometimes 300-400 for a single role. Among these, there may be internal candidates, referrals, or individuals from previous searches that we’re expected to consider. Unfortunately, it’s not feasible for one recruiter to personally connect with everyone, so we rely on technology to help us identify resumes that align most closely with the required qualifications.
Rejection notices are typically sent in batches. If you receive one quickly, it likely means the system automatically flagged your application as not meeting the requirements. For others, rejections may come later as we wait on hiring managers to review profiles, conduct interviews, and provide feedback—steps that can take time and are often delayed by competing priorities.
also, rejections close to holidays is usually because of timing constraints. For example, if a hiring manager decides on a candidate for a January 6 start date, I need to wrap up the process and notify everyone else before moving forward. While it’s not ideal, I sent notices prior to the holiday so candidates aren’t left in limbo and I can wrap up before we all go out for the break.
As recruiters, we genuinely care about the candidate experience. Many of us strive to provide personal communication when possible after manager interviews but it’s also a delicate balance. I’ve learned that not everyone responds well to rejection—even when offered the chance to discuss feedback over the phone. People told me they prefer and email and the offer to follow up after they digest it.
Ultimately, only one person gets the role so that means 299 unhappy people. Please know that we do our best to advocate for all candidates and be for fair and transparent in every step.
That's lousy. And this might sound odd, but it's probably for the better to get the bad news as soon as you can. Even if it shadows a holiday. Things will likely pick up in the new year, so think of the future, you've got a lot to look forward to.
That’s crazy! And multiple at that. Been hearing slightly more optimism in the new year so there is that at least. I’ve had a ton of rejection messages this year and it is a let down every time. Just looking forward to next year and trying to figure out what I can do in the meantime.
I have seen a noticeable uptick the last month or so. Not just for me, but multiple friends have observed the same thing after literally years of crickets. Hopefully it will last.
I had 4 interviews the last 4 weeks. Just booked a long term freelance project.
I am sorry to hear that OP. The job market is really rough out there and lots of people are having a really hard time to find a job. I would suggest posting in the job referral bowl if you haven't already and seeing what leads you can get in there.
That’s the spirit
Gross I hate that for you sounds like people just trying to clear their inbox to the left for the holiday. It’s rough. I hope you find something soon. Good luck to you.
