Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

I consider my mentor as such because he is someone whose advice I value above many others because of our interaction and how he treated me and is regarded by peers. While not the loudest, flashiest person in a room, he is the calmest, wisest and very fair and considerate person. He has never compromised his morals and has never thrown anyone under the bus and has always advocated for me and others on his team. He gave me room to work and was never a micromanage but always let me know he was there to help me. I’d follow him anywhere. Many others also seek his counsel.
And yet he wasn’t a EVP or big wig whom I would never consider a mentor. Those people are more d-bags and examples of how not to be a good person, let alone a mentor.
Just be a good person. Good luck!
You could be a sounding board for them by listening to their concerns, offering advice, and helping them problem-solve.
