Tell them you are not afraid to ask questions and that you love to learn. As an AAE, I don’t have very high expectations of a person’s knowledge for the industry. I do expect them to have drive/hustle, know what they don’t know, and not be afraid to ask “stupid” questions. I also look for heart/passion for the industry, a natural curiosity about different business categories, and just being a decent person who gets along well with others. Good luck.
When I'm interviewing entry/junior level talent, I dont even ask about industry knowledge. I just want to know about passion for the role and where they see their career going. At that stage it's about finding a person that's going to vibe with the team, learn from mistakes, and show they dont believe in phoning it in.
Thank you everyone for the advice I landed the position!!
Prove that you can handle multiple things at once and get them right, that you're persistent (hounding ppl to fill in the status doc), you're willing to work late without complaining, and you are chill to work with. The AAE is the glue that holds everything together, so you should prove that you can do that. Also aim to do the AEs work, not just the AAEs responsibility. And now I'm rambling...
Congrats!!!
