The travel burns me out. Been traveling for four years. Plus the project is good and the client doesnt want to pay. I believe corporate housing earns you marriott points but i could be wrong
When you get engaged - you should see it as a long term commitment. Not just for a year. It’s not a good way to look at things!
You just call amex, OP, and they find you options. A few are owned by Marriott, so you can get points, but not many.
Budget depends on your engagement but generally no one is willing to pay more than what your hotel would be. EP would have to approve.
Most people I know with corporate apartments still fly home on weekends.
Also, most hotels do have discounted pricing for long-term stays, so you can look into that as well.
Why! Think of all the hotel points and status you are leaving on the table!!
Op, I did it last year. Don’t hear the nay sayers about points. My piece of mind is more important. My wife actually moved with me as well and found a local job (given we moved to a major metropolitan area). We at acn use a company that gives marriott points, but in certain areas that service charges too much. I went through an exception route (got a empty apartment and brought my own furniture - donot recommend), and forgo the points. The challenge is I had to go through ACN legal to get the exception approved. Not sure about EY.
Do you have to share the service apartment with someone? I was just planning on getging a furnished one
someone I knew got the apt for over a year with SPG while on a long term project...got millions of points
D1, if you count the points, in my travels they never added up more than $10k~$15k each year. In my scenario, I was promoted based on my performance (being on client site Thursday and lunches with client execs on fridays and weekend gatherings helped a lot) the $10k points was not a big deal. I was able to make that up in few years. But I do admit it’s not for everyone. It only worked for me as my family moved with me.
