What’s the base for CL8 (CDO)? Glassdoor doesn’t seem accurate, as it pegs CL8 at 56k. Currently a CL9, on 52.5 in London. Promoted from CL10 last year too, so still a fairly new CL9.

I work for a late stage(ipo) start up, earlier this year we were acquired & since then they got rid of our yearly bonuses and gave us an ESOP grant.
2 RIFs later we are almost bare bones. Since we are coming up on our usual yearly evaluations many of us assumed (with multiple conversation from our managers) that pay raises and promotions were due.
In a recent All hands we found out that this year there will be no pay raises nor promotions based off merit. Is it time to jump ship?

Have an offer for a SM strategy role in industry. Offer is coming in at 280- 300 TC. Total experience 10+ years, 7 YOE at MBB, T5 MBA, MCOL city. Am I being low balled? Should I continue to search for something better?

I work in healthcare administration but was a medic for years. You learn so much about innovation but seems like most health systems just want people to fall in line and just do what's always been done. How does contract to hire work? If I’m offered $37/hr on w2 for 3 months and then possibly a permanent position, how much can I expect to get annually as a full time company employee as a BI data analyst II? I have a M.S. and certificates in DA but this will be my first job as DA.
I prefer working for what is offered on contract without negotiating, and then negotiate when I transition into the company itself so I have a better chance of getting the contract position and show my skills.

Need Advice:

An agency I’ve gotten a lot of work from reached out about a five-week gig. After I accepted, it was downgraded to two weeks.

Since, the KO meeting has been pushed back twice, a week total, so the project is starting a week after the initial email agreement. They’re not paying for the time I’ve been waiting.

On the one hand, it’s been slow and I don’t have a competing offer, (actual leverage). On the other hand, it’s disrespectful of my time.

What would you do?

Trying to avoid paying an accountant, can I actually write off home office space/mileage if I was just permalancing for 3 months last year? Shouldn’t the 7 months of W2 take care of this 1099 shit?

What happens when you're remote and have a day rate but the job doesn't take the whole day. Not technically in the office so would you round up? Split into half? Anyone else run into this? Thanks.

How do you deal with references as a freelancer? Most of my past gigs - I had managers on paper but it was a formality as I led my own work so don't feel comfortable asking them to be a reference.

How much higher should my 1099 hourly rate be compared to hourly breakdown of annual salary? Like add 30% for taxes, then roughly how much more considering no benefits etc. - like 10-15%?

My accounting edge finance is not compatible with the new Mac OS. I do not need the $15/month subscription they offering as an upgrade since I’m a lone freelancer. I’ve always kept my own books and did my own taxes. Anyone else out there with a basic bookkeeping program recommendation for Mac would be appreciated.
