I’ve recently started working at PwC as and account executive. I have a degree but not in an accounting related field and I’ll be honest I’m not sure I want to go down that route. I do want a career and progression, what options do I have? What routes have other people taken?

Client Administrator?

You can transfer into another service line after few years depending upon your interest.

Is it someone working under a CRE? So IFS, but not an EA? More like marketing

Client strategist?

I had a partner in my office who started in PA by working in the mail room. He eventually got accounting degree and worked in audit. I would say go get a master degree in accounting related field.

Thanks for that! I know a few people who have worked in this role and then moved onto become associates and followed that route to managers/partners. That’s not for me. But I do want a career, trying to figure out what that could be.

I agree with other posters. PwC is a great place to work so get your foot in the door where you can, find what you’re interested in, make connections and move positions when you’re ready.

I was a college athlete, and my fitness losses since college are stark. Every month on WHOOP, my HRV decreases and resting HR increases. In 2y, I’ve gone from running 400m in 58” to 1:25” and from squatting 200lb to 125lb. PBF has gone from 18 to 24. Yes, I’m still a healthy human-being. But losing my identity (and physique) as “an athlete” has been hard for me. I would like to be realistic about my fitness while traveling and working 60+ hrs. But I’d also like to push myself. What’s possible?

I started at a new firm this year in January. I had a billable goal that was given to me mid year of around 1750 house for the year. I am nowhere near that and definitely will not meet the goal. I had so many non billable hours I was forced to take when I first came in. I worked my ass off in busy season. At my previous firm I never fell short of hours as it was B4. This firm is mid sized and more focused on WLB. My question is how bad do you think this will affect my comp??
