I like the client aspect of public accounting, flexibility and mentoring/training younger associates, but feel pretty meh about tax in general. I need to turn in a two week notice, but my boss has a week of PTO scheduled (one of many weeks this summer). He still “checks in” via email and IM while on leave. Is it unacceptable to turn in a notice while he’s technically on PTO, even if he’s still checking in periodically?
