I’m considering leaving Google to go work at a startup, I’m wondering if things don’t work out how easy it’d be to come back to Google. I’d love to hear from people who returned to Google how the process was. Does the company value your previous tenure at Google, or do they treat you like any external candidate who never worked at Google before?

Lol Deloitte is 10000000x more toxic than EY. I find the culture at EY to be more humble/less type a and serious than at Deloitte
Ex EY and I think work culture and people in general at EY are nicer and friendlier. Deloitte is more rude across the board but have had better projects in my line of work: data analytics. I switched from M at EY to M at D.
That said, going in as SM can be rough, it probably is the roughest position of all.

Your partner is gas lighting you - that being said EY at SM level is not easy either, if you are a relationship guy you will do well. Unless this partner is putting you up for promo to partner he has no substance in his intentions

Is SM at EY same level as SM at D? If so it means promo and more cash, I’d take my chances if I were in your shoes.
EY culture is great, below SM level. Had a friend who made the same jump from M at Deloitte to SM at EY. He only lasted 2 years before he was asked to leave. It’s hard to build that new network and sale unless you are bringing clients with you. He wished he would have came in at Manager 3 and had some time to build his network before getting killed by missed sales targets.
What was the sales target?
I had a really bad EY experience which lead me to jumping to Deloitte and I am way happier. There seems to be more organizational structure at Deloitte (ie admin support). At EY it really depends on the practice and team. I was in PAS and it was awful, super clickish and everything was based on ass kissing and how much you worshiped your partner rather than your work. My SM left to go back to ACN after 6 months at EY as well. Also the quality of SM seemed a little sub standard as well.
D4, are you in HC now at D?
I was an experienced hire and was at my previous company for my entire career. EY has exceeded all my expectations and I really like it here. But I am also in a small specialty practice…so my experience might be unique.

I’ve been interviewing at EY for an SM role as well. Curious if you’d be willing to share offer? Salary? Signing bonus? Trying to figure out if it is worth my time.
