Just finished my first year in audit. Recruiter reached out to me for a role with a 30% bump in salary. Total comp included it gets closer to 45%. I actually enjoyed my first year and especially being done with busy season now feeling pretty good. I always bill 100% of my time and for my entire career in public accounting I have never heard anything negative until recently.. I was told to watch my time as the client doesn’t like to pay these fees, and the partner is unhappy because it looks like I have high hours. Is the message that I should eat my time?
