I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)

My insurance ad a union member the last 10 years has been far better than any insurance I ever paid for in 30 years of working. So when it comes to things a job has to have. Insurance is very high on the list.
Do labor unions really successfully offer people better insurance these days? I'm doubtful because it seems like labor unions don't win very often anymore. I'd love for someone to prove me wrong but I just highly doubt it'd make a difference.
It's hard to generalize about it, but unions have been diminished since the war on them began in the Reagan years. Generally speaking, the way the middle class was nurtured by unions is now, sad to say, something for the history books. There probably are unions that still offer great benefits, but they're always under attack.
