I switched to tcs few months back ,here project manager told me that work will be in Angular but when I got into the project it was only html,css and jQuery. now how can i change my project as current one is not going along with my aspirations. It's a technology which now no one uses much . Under my current client all projects are based on that only . Plz suggest that how can I change my current project .?Tata consultancy sevices

Your manager will often simply initiate promotion but not give recommendation. He will lie that he doesnt have control he pushed it very very very hard for you but HR/Unit is considering multiple parameters. DONT BELIEVE HIM.
The difficulty of getting promotion increases with the role. Eg. These days for C3A to C3B promotion , one should not be an MLT defaulter.
It also depends on how many associates are there in that role already under your manager. Eg if you want to get promoted to C3A and if already many C3As are there, it will be harder.

MLT is just one certification.
Wings2 is a time consuming process with 1 or 2 certs, multiple competencies, Panel evaluation etc.

The rest of them are told that promotion is pending at HR end and then again the list goes next quarter and those on the list get promoted. so it doesn't matter if your promotion has been initiated, you have to be on the recommendation of your managers to get promoted.
If you are critical for the project then you might get promoted else the managers would always try to save the WON's expenses and say your promotion is pending at HR.

Unit head or HR gives the no of associates that could be promoted for so and so grade. Reviewer provides recommendations for that number.

I think 4+ years of experience.
It entirely depends on your manager. If he wants to promote you, he will promote you.
Or he will raise it and dangle that carrot for many quarters/years so that you will not start searching outside and be sincere to whatever tasks he is assigning you.
How about lateral hires?
If some join's as C1 with 3 years of experience, after completing 1year is he eligible?
