We *just* switched to DTO for everyone in January, so it’s hard to tell how it will be different than it was with PTO. In general, though, I think it depends what project you’re on and which Partner you work for. You do have to calculate how your use of DTO will affect your utilization goal. (Sorry, that’s not terribly helpful...)
I like it. I’ve had it for multiple years since Navigant switched managers and associate directors over. I always recommend that team members plan for time off just like it’s PTO by letting people know up front that they’re planning to take time off, but it also allows you to just take an afternoon or a day if you can with project work. I’ve never had an issue with it and like it better than PTO. However, this very much depends on the team so I would just manage it like PTO.
