So I've had 2 hiring managers and several recruiters from Amazon reach out to me about applying for some open positions with the company (android). I completed the coding assessment and now they want me to go through a round of 5 hour interviews next week. Is there a good chance I'll be hired if engineering managers are reaching out to me? I'm really not sure how badly I want to work for them and I don't want to be laid off months after being hired on. Anyone know what Amazon hiring is like?

Hello - hope everyone is having a great weekend. I'm looking into risk assurance opportunities at Meta, especially Application Manager, Controls (min 5 YOE) and Manager, Compliance (min 12 YOE). I am a Senior Manager with 9 years of IT risks assurance experience. Does anyone have any thought on which position I should apply? If anyone currently at Meta could share your experience, that would also help. If anyone is open to providing referrals, I could provide my background. Facebook (Meta)

Just show up for work and pretend you didn't see the email. Social pressure gets people to tip for counter service. They will have a hard time turning you away.
They need to interview outside candidates to pretend like they are playing the game.
I’ve run into this with Citibank. They love to waste ppls time, I’ve had panels with them where nobody even bothered to turn on their camera…such an embarrassment. I came to the conclusion they just waste time with Bull* interviews to fulfill quotas.
Getting an email explaining the situation is nice, most of the time it’s “crickets”.
Sorry! I agree it’s a total waste of time.
That's a stupid HR email. But hey we have all been there
An internal candidate being hired doesn’t always mean it was a predetermined outcome. It’s not like hiring managers in a large company know every single person who could apply internally at the start of a process. It’s not always someone moving up on the current team. Sometimes the external options aren’t as good, so it just ends up that way.
