M2 NYC metro area working in healthcare consulting base around $131K low for an M2 in a high COL or market? No MBA, but want to pursue in the next 2 years to pivot to working in health strategy.

Are there any good movies or novels that show skill development - like follow through? Self-management? Money management? Does anyone regret joining a boutique consulting firm? I signed with a startup out of college (spring 2020) whose founding partners were all partners/Sr leaders at a few T2s. Our firm is super small (dozen FTEs) but does really good work (we charge premium rates and work super cool projects). Told a friend of mine in tech I was considering moving to BCG. He asked me if I would have to move to Boston.

I followed up by asking what he thought the top consulting firms were. "I'd guess PwC and then McKinsey are the best. I've also heard of KPMG, Deloitte, and Bain, but I don't know much about them."
