I keep a few tote bags and plastic grocery bags in a drawer at me desk in case I ever abruptly quit on the spot or get fired. Anyone else?

Got laid off. Have savings to hold me until I find a new position but mostly I'm just embarrassed. Has anyone ever gotten laid off and not told their friends/partner about it? I just don't want people in my circle to know I failed basically.

I’m well liked around the office, I put in the hours and work hard, I haven’t had any dumpster fire projects, but I am a mediocre performer compared to my peers (not as strong project management, communication, not as confident). I have a 25K loan from my MBA. I paid off 100k whole, after graduation. 3 years ago, I moved my loan from federal to private ( SOFI) account. I recently lost my job. I have applied for unemployment, as the severance that I received will only cover for 2 months. Together my husband and I used to make less than 250k after tax.
