Happy New Week!
A reminder to be kind to yourself this new week. Remember we ought to work to live, not live to work.

Needed this!

We all need this reminder from time to time.

Thank you for sharing this OP. I really needed this reminder because I am really stressed this week. I decided to take a last minute long weekend trip this week to New York and getting everything in a good place before I leave has me stressed. But you are right, we work to live and not the other way around. Work will be waiting for me when I get back.

Work never stops and never ends. I'm glad you're taking some time out for yourself and i hope you feel adequately refreshed when you return

When they lay people off, they often keep things quiet because it will "effect morale". But the firing itself is what effects morale. Being secretive about it undermines respect and harms morale more.

Any parents under H1B? I was@looking to get an au pair for kids and got to know that I cannot host one because I don’t have a green card yet. Any options? I heard people get au pairs that have another year remaining in their visa but couldn’t find one yet

We stay until 8 or 9 everyday and then at the end of every week my manager tells me to book only 40 hours. It sucks ass and now I have to explain to my counselor why my utilization is so pedestrian...

Have you ever taken a career slow down? I am feeling burnt out from COVID and the incremental responsibilities thrown my way over the last 5+ years. I feel like my health has deteriorated. I like my company, but I want to do less. I don’t need to be a HR Director, CHRO, etc. With a career slowdown, I am prepared for a lower compensation and would want decent benefits. Any lessons learned or success stories about career slowdowns?

Hi- I’m an hourly AA, been on the role for 6 months now and it’s my first AA job. I did not get a raise when I took the job because it was technically a demotion ( I was a team leader at a contact center). I assist two VPs and now they want to add a third because they’re looking for the “ 3:1 ratio “. Should I ask for a raise? Is this normal? I know another AA that handles 3+ people but idk if she’s hourly or salary. Any thoughts?

Hey! I’m new here and would like some input. I’ve been working in a new position for almost 5 months. In that time I’ve witnessed some unethical and lots of unprofessional behavior. I’ve been yelled at and berated by my coworker 3 separate times because of minor errors. I’m ready to quit. There are so many major issues in this company that I don’t know if I want to subject my mental health to this degree of toxicity. I just don’t know how to move forward from here.
