Hardware engineer at IBM. Is anyone still hiring? I have experience from hardware design to data analytics at companies ranging from IBM,P&G, and Toyota. Albeit not many years out of college but have have shown decent ability to grasp onto complicated subjects and projects ranging from automotive to semiconductor fairly quickly. Just looking for an entry level data analytics role to pivot into DA/DS.

I’ve been approached my by company that one of our large clients (who im currently project managing for) is looking for a consultant of sorts, and if they hire us, I’d be the first person asked to take on this consultant role. This isn’t something my company typically offers and would greatly change the scope of my role. Has anyone ever taken on a role like this? Misled on Maternity Leave Policy. I found out I only get 4 weeks pay for maternity leave (STD +“sick days”). I will take 12 weeks but wont get paid for 8 weeks. I work for a US, west coast based company in the tech/VC industry. Their website claims to offer “paid parental leave and other progressive benefits for parents”. I didn’t find out until after I was hired their pay was only 8 weeks but since I have been at the company less than 12 months, I don’t qualify for their policy. Is this unfair?
