Stealth layoffs at CWT confirmed.
Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I’m frankly surprised anyone hasn’t 😂
I’ve been on a project team when it happened. Basically, it can easily happen if someone goes sideways with a key client. In the case of my project, a peer of mine rubbed someone the wrong way and had a complaint and then had a presentation go poorly. It was slightly unfair to her, but the client gets what the client wants sometimes and that fact is just part of the business we’re in. Hurt her YE review, but it was not unrecoverable from(she’s back on track)
Yes, well close! It was managed service and whatever we were doing wasn’t enough! They had problem with the people we were bringing in but didn’t want to pay for the rate for the people they wanted. We worked on an exist strategy with them cause we didn’t want any bad press (client was a big brand).
I made sure I was the first to go during that exit! In return, it gave me a promotion as we were able to exit gracefully.
