It's great. I'm surprised others are saying no work beforehand. You really need a good understanding of the fact pattern. I skimmed it on the plane and was far and away the least prepared person there. Anyway, I still learned a ton. I did a trial a few months later and, frankly, crushed it. And we won, so there's that.
I did it a few months ago and really enjoyed it. You can read through the materials before, but not necessary. It is kind of a lot of work during the workshop, so you don’t have much time for any other work if you want to attend everything. But I thought it definitely worthwhile, especially if you can get coverage.
I have! No need to prepare in advance IMO. It’s very good, as a newbie litigator I found it to be very helpful, but YMMV
That’s awesome you get to go as a first year. It’s usually our junior shareholders and sometimes senior associates that get to go. I’ve heard it can be a little intense but a great experience overall.

I’ve heard nothing but good things. One of my former bosses (probably one of the best trial lawyers I’ve ever met) has been practicing over 40 years and went to NITA as a young lawyer. He said it changed everything for him. I’ve heard similar things from other litigators who own their own firms. I did some free and lower cost NITA on-demand videos and loved them so much. Wish I could afford the real thing
Related question for anyone who knows, how often are the classes offered in each city? I’m in Colorado and I wanna do the depo and trial skills but it’s coming up next month and I can’t fit that in my schedule. Will it be offered in Colorado again before the end of the year?
You definitely need to review the materials and depending on your experience levelz create some basic outlines. I think the efficacy depends on your instructors
