Associate 2 in front office trading, asked for an internal transfer from London to NYC in the same role and got an offer of $165k base. Currently on £115k in Lon and the US figure doesn't seem to cover the higher CoL. Does anyone have experience on what the figures should be for Aso2 in NY?

hey, I’m in need of some advice! Hopefully, I haven’t screwed myself over..so I get a call for a job and they initially offer $62k with a $1000 sign on bonus, I countered at 65k bc I knew I deserve more pay but I was afraid to actually ask for much more than that. How would you tell an employer A that you've received an offer from employer B and you are going to go with that without burning the bridges? Is it okay to tell about the other offer?

Has anyone considered becoming a real estate agent just to save on those RE agent fees? If you do just one transaction per decade for yourself, seems like you'll still do better even considering ongoing TREB/OREA/brokerage fees. I was making $62k at my last job which seemed severely underpaid, especially in Los Angeles. I would be fine with $85k but would definitely be more comfortable with around $92k.
