I recently joined TCS but I was moved into very different project which was told during hiring. Also they told me for joining incentive but later after 65 days of joining they didn't give saying your business aproval got rejected. I really want to be with TCS but due to project dissatisfaction, I am looking for different job. I am not sure if I can leave the organisation soo soon(4 months) and it should not effect my carrier.

I went through this process from summer ‘21 until feb/mar ‘22. Was in Advisory/Cyber and transferred into S&A CCG. Per company policy, I had to wait one year since my start date to go through this process.
The summarized version: you need a “strong” story for why you want to switch, sponsorship/approval from a Partner in the receiving business (i.e., consulting). Once you have that, you can fill out the Transfer form on TOD.
My 2 cents: this process is long, at the analyst level you can’t really negotiate salary, might be better off applying to a consulting job elsewhere (if time and compensation is a priority).
Tips / Lessons Learned
-Never assume that Talent/Business Advisor is diligently working with your transfer. They have competing priorities. So, be intentional about diplomatically following up. If they tell you you’ll hear back and never hear back, follow-up!! If they tell you there’s a recruiter working on your case, ask who’s the recruiter!! (And make sure they’re still at the firm — my case was assigned to recruiters that were no longer at Deloitte)
Feel free to IM if you have more poited questions about this.
You need to network and have someone want to pull you over. I went through the process while I was there and while it was a hassle, it was worth it
Thank you SC1!
I went through it. I was ok a consulting project for about a year. During that time I spoke to team members and leaders about my desire to stay in the practice full time. I made sure to perform well and get their support and then formally initiated a transfer on TOD. Once I did that it was pretty straightforward
Yes u usually need to interview for a transfer to consulting including case studies. If your network is very strong and the leaders know your work first hand u may not need to
Keep in mind that is a faster paced more cutthroat environment than Advisory. Pay is higher but job security is lower in comparison
Isn’t advisory/consulting the same division
