I tried cheap ones from Amazon. Expensive, second hand gaming chairs. Tried HM Aeron (second hand) and while I didn't like the bulk and the general design, I was sold on the mesh seating. I wanted to get the ErgoChair 2 from autonomous, but it doesn't have mesh seat.

Hey! Any Google folks know if it’s possible to negotiate fully remote if a contract role is hybrid? Personally, I don’t want to relocate and go to the office on a contract role given the current economy. Plus, I’m assuming contractors are the first to go in layoffs. I just think it’s a fair trade off if I’d be allowed to work fully remote. I’m also trying to have flexibility to manage my Airbnb business in a different country. Same time zone as the home office if I’d travel weeks at a time.

I did! It’s much easier now with the virtual environment, if you’re still planning to be with D. You’ll need to make sure you have a “game plan” for staffing after you’ve moved. They’ll approve but you’ll get a nastygram from HR saying you’ll need to be staffed within 4 weeks of your effective transfer date or face consequences.
FYI I was gps out of dc supporting a federal client, so they were weary of me having to transition to state and local and having to rebuild the little network I’d built in my 6ish months at the firm
Yes. It really doesn’t matter to most Big4 firms. Our model is sending the “talent” around the world as needed. Smaller more boutique firms have the luxury of building local pools for local clients.
The main caveat being industry driven areas. If you want to do bankruptcy work, Charlotte area is good; if you want to M&A work, NYC is good; if you want to do Energy work Houston is good, etc.
