Pretty rare, but seen it. Usually more on the integrations side

Can confirm more on the post-merger integration side. Not that exciting of work if I’m being honest.

Is TAS just pigeon holing? the responses sure make it sound like it is.

smart

Yes TAS is generally not somewhere you want to spend too much time

smart

I had deep industry experience and it helped that the company was looking to sell and wanted help with the sell side process as well. To be honest, getting the interview is the hardest part so leverage your network and get creative. Once you get the interview, be ready to sell yourself. Unfortunately, not a lot of CD groups hiring at the moment…

I'm an introverted person, like to keep to myself, focus on work, spend the rest of my time on family, gym etc. I've been told that I need to work on my communication and client relationship building skills. any books I can read? I don't follow pop. culture anymore, no longer actively follow team sports (but sporty myself) as I consider it bread and circus for the masses and don't rly enjoy work drinks... Am I doomed? Personally I am happy and love the work but fear for my career progression.

Been unhappy and stuck at my big law firm for a couple years. Mentor set me up with a secondment with a client. Am I kindly being pushed out? I like the work well enough in the secondment but the location is a non-starter.

I can really use some direction. My background, I've worked 2 years in strategy and am currently coming off an exhausting year 2 in investment banking. I didn't particularly enjoy either role and am not interested in moving over to the buy-side or some monotonous FP&A role. Everybody says there's exit-ops aplenty, but I find myself with less options and even more picky than I did as an ambitious T2 undergrad student. Where do I go from here?

I recently got a verbal offer from KPMG strategy. Is that more prestigious than like, most other firms? Like, I know MBB is done with recruiting; I feel like below MBB for name recognition is the Big 4 and other firms aren’t as reputable. I’m trying to decide whether or not I should interview and apply to other firms or just take this one (assuming a written offer ever comes along). Also, I prioritize work culture and exit opportunities over salary, but don’t want to be paid below poverty line.

Which one should I go for?

1. Oracle - 18.3 LPA fixed + probable bonus (I may or may not get)
2. Amadeus - 18 fixed + 1.5 variable.

Amadeus is also giving joining bonus of 75k. Amadeus is paying more, may give better hikes too, but I am finding it hard to let go off Oracle's brand name on my resume even if it's means around 2L less over an year. I am planning to work for atleast 3 years in my next company.

What would you have done in my place? Should I go for Oracle or Amadeus?
