Hello Mastercard employees. I have been trying to break into MC for long now.
I have 2 yrs workex post MBA. I have experience in data analysis and consulting. But I don't want to get into consulting anymore. I am looking for analytics roles. Anyone here would be able to DM and guide me on the available options at Mastercard?

It’s not as simple as a monthly rate. You pitch with 20-40 other talented consultants and have to make the top 3-4 cut for interviews. And if you pass, you create a proposal with maybe one other. This is when you negotiate rate. You can charge by the hour, fixed rate, etc. And if everyone is aligned and happy there, you win the job. And most roles are 1-2 mos.
My point is it’s a lot of luck. And I’m noticing a lot of clients looking for a deal. For instance, I have 17 YOE and proposed a 200/hr steal of a deal for my expertise for a one month gig and got beat out by someone with a BA, same seniority who charged 150/hr.
I know you’re McKinsey but so are many others. Just temper your expectations and be competitive and you’ll get luckier.
But I’ve been on it for 4 weeks and have had one unsuccessful proposal mentioned above, and am in my second proposal and I aim to win this time. But who knows.
150-200 for ex-MBB if you’re just starting and need to build reputation.
Could go higher if you have a specific hard-to-find expertise or as you build reputation.
For example, I know a lot of Catalant team members, so that helps tremendously.
