Has anyone made a career shift from Finance to Marketing? If so, how was the transition and what would you recommend to make it easier? Is there any other related/semi related field that is less demanding?

Starting my journey to transition from a 8-year healthcare career into tech. I got lucky enough to be connected to a Google Health leader and am speaking to him next week, and someone gave me the advice to firmly express my interest in tech versus experience in healthcare. Any other advice for when I speak to him, and how do I best play to my strengths (ie my industry expertise) to succeed in this transition?
