Yep, quitting and taking a sabbatical. Have enough savings for two years but only plan to take 6months off and look for a job.
God I hope this becomes the norm. This and summer breaks for adults baby!!
Feel you, but I work with one great partner and he’s the only reason I make it through to the next day each day. Rest of the folks are pretty miserable and getting worse by the day as we get busier and busier. Thank God for this good partner. Everyday I thank God.

More miserable than unemployed? Not saying this would happen, but the market is terrible right now. Even phenomenal people are getting passed over, and the process of lateraling itself is very slow. Try not to let short-term emotion get in the way of long-term well-being - anything can be sucked up for a finite period of time. And you can always come here to vent in the meanwhile!
You must sacrifice your mental and physical well being in exchange for material security or else you will not be able to afford a lifestyle that is 4x the ordinary American lifestyle and your beloved colleagues will silently judge you on LinkedIn, and your life will be over.
