Has anyone received mortgage subsidy from employer ? My sister’s employer is offering her either rent subsidy for 2 years or mortgage interest subsidy. The rent subsidy is 35k/ year & interest subsidy on mortgage is upto 90k/yr for 5 yrs.
Are there any downsides to getting mortgage subsidy ? Can the mortgage subsidy be negotiated to cover downpayment or emi rather than just interest ? Interested to know if anyone has gone thru similar stuff

But I'll start a new job in 2 weeks where I'll be under taxable bracket. How are you planning to close education loan for MBA. Is tax saving worth the stress of loan.

Everyone has a different perspective on this but would love to hear yours. Someone has debt ranging say 4-5% interest rates. Do you attack debt more then investing to move towards a debt free life or do you go after investments since they return historically above that then paying down closer towards retirement. I know the latter looks better on paper but what about the psychological factors of being debt free and the guaranteed return on interest savings.
