Not the same, but I went from manufacturing PM to advertising PM. In my experience, advertising is waay easier to navigate. I find people are generally more chill and open in Ad world vs dealing with the foreman who chain smokes on his lunch break.
Perhaps this is a case of imposter syndrome? Have a daily/weekly check-up with your team. What's going well, what needs improvement? What resources are you missing? Then work towards filling the gap. brush up on agile principles.
Try to get a deep understanding of how your team works and what their process is. Lean into their strengths and set up contingencies around their gaps. They are the subject matter experts, your job as PM is to do everything in your power to give them what they need to succeed. If they do well, your project will do well.
If you don't have the resources you need to do your job correctly, you have to escalate and let someone know. It's your boss's job to support you as well.
I am also PMing at an advertising agency and find it rather difficult however, I don’t think it is a personal problem but more so because the agency lacks adequate resources and staff as well as processes making every day a fire.
