Has anyone tried charging others for mock interview sessions? For context, I’m currently in undergrad returning to BCG after graduation

No... Students are already burdened with loans. Do something nice for em lol.

like

Yeah give back to your school and alumni. Even once you start at BCG, you’ll end up meeting with students to help them with the application and interview process then. How do you feel about charging them once you start at the firm?

like

Dont

The fact that you even thought about doing this 🙄

Yea I definitely didn’t think this through haha thanks everyone!

Do good. God will reward you in different ways.

likeuplifting

I don’t actually think you’re allowed to do that if you’ve signed / are an incoming employee

like

Yes. God will intervene in your life as a reward for helping your network find six figure jobs. That sounds like first world religion to me.

Meanwhile, let’s pray that the stock market keeps up. God clearly has a strong hand there too.

I’m pretty sure it’s not a legal/compliance issue while you’re still unemployed. Once you start at your new firm you may need to confirm w compliance if you can do this side hustle

like

Great to see the BCG values come out 😂

There are multiple platforms for consultants to make extra cash (~$100/hr) by conducting mock case interviews

like

Can you refer me as an undergrad hire OP :)

like

Legality aside, I would take a middle ground - say you're happy to do 1 or 2 for free, but if they pay you they can book as many case sessions as they need and you'll change your schedule around their needs etc

like

Think about the # of mock interviews people gave you without charging

like

Crazy!!

Volunteerism?

This is a real question... Its easy for you to be asked by a bunch of ppl for help. I think you should offer 1 per person for free unlimited to friends and a nominal fee for your time eg dinner. But enjoy your senior year it should be extra fun since you have a postgrad role lined up
