Has anyone worked for Canal Insurance? Any feedback on their culture, caseload, and salary ranges? Are they competitive?

Thank you

It was a good place to learn/specialize in trucking liability. When I was there, it was mostly lawyers in cushy positions calling the shoots. Growth was limited without a JD degree and being in the right click. I think they cleaned house at the top of the Claims department which is good. The head person was promoted out and then canned. He acted nice but couldn't be trusted, in my experience with him. HR, unlike any other company I worked for, has a huge influence on everything, Be careful when dealing with HR.

Hi guys,
Need help,I am joining
VMware Banglore on 27th June. During interview I told them I need wfh. They said it wil be wfh this entire year. Only mistake I did was i didn't permanent wfh. I took for granted like once I join i can opt for it ( as my VMware friends had said we can opt for it)
Now the offices have started, I am scared if they call me to office , I have 14months son, not willing to leave him n go for office.

So if I ask manager to give me permanent wfh will they agree ?

I need some career advice. I finished my master's degree in international law (B.A.Sc international relations) but I am not sure where to go from here. I always wanted to join a big firm and I've applied to different vacancies in international firms/companies but got rejected from all of them.
Does anyone have any tips on certain job positions or companies where an LLM would prove to be useful with my background?
I'm starting to feel quite stuck in this situation and it's very demoralising.

Kinda bummed. I’ve been single for 6 years (I’m 31 now). I live in ptown and talk to guys in Boston on tinder. Was talking to a guy for about a week who is my type. I asked if he wanted to FaceTime tonight and he said sure but caveated that he isn’t into long distance (ptown to Boston) and that we would most likely stick to chatting. Idk what’s wrong with me. Everyone tells me I’m a catch but guys I’m attracted to are never into me 😭 just needed to vent

I have family members who are inside claims reps for a large company. The company sends out emails 4 times/day showing who is currently not available for calls. To everyone working in claims in the entire country! It’s been a minute since I worked in claims. And never for this particular company. But is this shaming the new way to manage WFH.? Sounds at least toxic.

I feel like every company lies about “working your way up.” You’re never allowed to blatantly say that you don’t like your position and you’d like to transition to HR or Finance. It’s almost as if once you get in claims, you’re stuck.

If you’re a manager and you see an employee that wants to branch out into a different department, why would you keep them boxed in for 2+ years?

Are there some background mechanics that I’m missing?

This is my first job in a large corporate company, and I’m trying to gauge how long it normally takes to move from entry level to another internal position in the insurance industry. I have been applying internally for a year now and I am wondering if this is normal or if my company is just slow?
