SE Asia
Some airlines literally let you book a RTW ticket which allows you to book as many individual flights as you want (all going the same direction) for only taxes & fees
Yeah Ik, but there’s a bunch of options for that as well
I was just looking at routes trough United (or any Star Alliance) and Peru had good mileage redemption. Also SE Asia, and major cities in Europe. I really wanted Marrakech though but that was a little more.
Another vote for southeast Asia! For a price point comparison, Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur costs $100-110 per night, with the Sheraton costing $60, so you can stay in comfort and benefit from status (if you have it) for much cheaper than the USA.
Kuala Lumpur is (was?) The biggest hub for Air Asia, an Asian low cost carrier, so it is easy to get to/around.
Taiwan is cheap too, but I don't know a out their covid travel restriction situation.
Kuala Lumpur has some super nice hotels at cheap rates
Happy to share my RTW itinerary wife and I did in 2018. DM me your email.
Also, do a lot of searches on united for flying with miles. They have great connections to Japan and Australia. Maybe you can fly to Sydney for cheap, and use Asian carriers to get to/around Asia, and then fly back home from Japan. I did a version of this before the pandemic.
