The new company I’m at now sent me an email from an email address that was HR@companyName.careers saying I was accepted for the position. They gave me paperwork to fill out and sign to accept the position
I fill out the paperwork and send it back to them and it goes through… then a few days later I go back to the email to say something else and I get this…?
Then today I got a check from the company In the mail to setup my home office, and it’s signed by someone I’ve never met before or heard of…?

I got an ultra-wide 34 inch monitor around when the pandemic started but after a bit I just thought it was too much. It took up to much room on my desk, and it almost became work tracking where in the screen my panels or lines of code were. I switched back to a 24 inch monitor paired with my laptop.
Just something to think about.
I bought a 49” and love it. I used to have 2 monitors side by side, but could never go back to that. My monitor uses one USB-C cable to charge and display. Getting rid of all the power cables and dongles was nice.
If you have a good size desk, I would go for it.
Get a decent 16:9 aspect monitor. Those ultrawides are a pain in the neck.
I started with 49 from Samsung, it was horrible. Downsized twice to 34 and then 29. Finally settled on a multi 24 16:9 setup and my neck has been super thankful. Guy at best buy said they are tired of taking returns for the 49 cause people think they can use all the real estate for productivity but they almost always return it. Great if it works for you but never again for me

I was considering the same two options. However I currently use both my laptop screen and a monitor. It looks like thr screen size of the ultrawides are less than the combined screen size of my regular monitor and laptop. I do not have a big enough desk to fit both an ultrawide and a laptop, so I think I'm going to just stick with a regular monitor. Plus another consideration is sharing your screen using an ultrawide. I'm not sure how that works
Assuming WFH ends, anyone bring external monitors when you travel to client site?
iPad + duet display is what I used on-site just to get a bit more real estate without having to lug anything around.
