I have an interview for a position at Slalom coming up for Slalom Emerge and was wondering what I should be expecting. I had a pretty good chat with the recruiter and I'm happily employed as is, but I'm always happy to test the waters. Any insights into the job, interview, negotiations process, working environment, culture, travel, etc.? It would be in the integration area. Thanks!
What are the levels within the SA role/cohort at PwC? Does it go to SA3? Or only SA2? Can you get hired as an SA2/3 from another firm? Is $110k for SA2 or SA3 in Houston or ATL a reasonable ask?
Just handed the cashier an old hotel key card I had in my wallet instead of my credit card... "sir we don't take Sheraton here"
How easy is it to move between terminals at JFK? Will be stuck in T8 for a while and there are no lounges I can access there :(
With the Chase Sapphire card now offering 5x points booked through their portal, is it worth it to book all travel through them? Or is it better to have flexibility with the airlines and 2x points when booked directly?
If you haven't had your CRT yet because your RP is MIA (which isn't out of the ordinary), should you be concerned about layoffs?
So, how is the new Marriott Bonvoy news impacting your loyalty to the program? I am currently Titanium Elite, so I feel as though it would still be worthwhile to maintain such status going forward given the benefits.
How much do you pay for infant (6months +) daycare in DFW? Specifically Allen- Mckinney- Frisco areas
For new hires at Accenture, are they asking you to relocate if the job is listed for another city? Or can you stay where you are and remain remote/travel once that’s available?
Hotel recs for a holiday in Cancun?
6 hour delay @ CLT Airport - If another frumpy woman in sweats and a puffy neck pillow hits me with her tacky rollerbag...
Need recs on gift for a good friend 33M works for United, so always traveling (and very light), not at all flashy very much into environment and sustainability. Hilton/Igh member.
Is Interjet a bad discount airline? Is it worth being on for 4 hours on a work trip or should I pay 2x to be on United?
My SO has gone MIA after a disagreement. How do I handle this emotionally and literally? I’m wrecked with worry and anxiety that he’s ghosting me.
Watched the movie Abominable with my kids (cute movie overall) and I noticed that one scene had the map of China showing them owning the South China Sea. ....
In-flight meal included boneless chicken. Mine had teeny-tiny bones. Silently choked trying not to wake the guy beside me. Told the FA. FA said to call United. How many points?
I have to leave tomorrow morning for a biz trip and my 3 year old just asked, “Daddy can I go to San Francisco with you?” 💔 How do you work/life balance THAT?
Does anyone know when the promotion decisions are announced at PwC? Have been hearing from Accenture and KPMG, sounds a little early to me, but wanted to check if anyone knows, thanks
is the 90k SPG points to marriott 270k to 7 nights at a category 1-5 + 132k united miles worth it? thinking on some trips to either UK or Singapore/Japan. Wondering if there's a better approach
Hey all! How is your firm handling travel? Is it voluntary or they start shifting towards a “no choice” to decide model? Is there any incentive from the firms to start traveling? Financial, PTO?
I am a manager with 13 yoe and getting an interview with Facebook as IC6. Want to understand if switching to IC6 is a good option or should I ask for manager role. Looking for insights for pros and cons of IC role. I enjoy people management but this IC role is for program manager.
What careers/practice areas in law do not require billable hours (other than plaintiff’s firms)?
I’d love to discuss best practices for leave management. Anyone have any tips on which systems to leverage (HRIS, etc.) and approval workflow that they’d like to share? 🙂
I need to buy and entire wardrobe. 2020 grad here. I’ve been remote this whole time so I don’t know what to expect as far as dress code. I read our handbook but it doesn’t really help me understand expectations. I’d like to keep my bold style (patterns, colors, unique pieces) and I’m a creative in NYC, so can I get away with it? How about hair and makeup- is it an expectation to be fully “put together”? Oh & shoes, heels a must? Any advice appreciated, super nervous about being perceived again.
So during COVID time, I see more and more people are shifting their attention to MBA instead getting to FAANG? Sounds like a good time to study amid this hard time.
Need Advice: I recently cleared the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner exam which inspired me to go for one other cert in the cloud world. However, I am confused if I should go for the next AWS cert (Solutions Architect) vs Google’s Cloud Digital Leader cert? Can anyone recommend anything here? Goal is to move out of consulting asap and get into FANG. TIA!
I feel totally blindsided by the interview I just had. I talked informally with Partner 1 before the interview and was told the position would be in one of the firm’s satellite offices. Then, during an interview with Partner 1 and Partner 2, Partner 2 mentioned that I’d have to move to the state where the firm is headquartered because he believes face-time is really important for training/mentoring. I have no plans to move and really hope this wasn’t all a huge waste of time.
Honest opinions please (even if negative/harsh!) - 2 week vacation in Q4 as a finance lateral that joined the firm in 2021. Will folks be raising eyebrows at this and judge me negatively?
Career question. I want to eventually get to be Director or VP Strategy at a F500, and most of these roles say they require a M7 MBA. I currently have 3 YOE and have the opportunity to exit at the manager level in strategy. Will not having a MBA gate keep these senior levels from me?
A job posting for a junior lateral asks for a writing sample. Could I reasonably use a published article I wrote that’s directly related to the practice area, or does it need to be sample work product like a brief?
Can somebody please explain to me why MBB and other top consulting firms are so adamant that you have an MBA? I majored in accounting, finance, and operations management at a top 10 undergrad business school and then got my masters in information systems from the grad school program. I took multiple MBA courses as electives when getting my masters and it seemed like those classes were very basic and easy. Idk if I would learn anything in an MBA program that I hadn’t already learned in undergrad
Would you apply through a diversity recruiting link or an MD referral link assuming you have referrals from both paths?
