been in industry (small companies) for 5 years with an active CPA. Wanted to get in SEC reporting roles but almost every company requires 2-year public accounting exp. Now applying for public accounting firms entry level positions but almost all firms HR asked if I had ever worked in firms. Got rejection emails from firms all the time. Is this a dead lock? firms exp matters much more than a CPA license?

Took a role at a family office last year working directly for a billionaire. Really regretting it now because I trusted his “discretionary bonus” and got screwed on comp (20% bonus despite good review - he doesn’t want to pay market). I am getting a little impatient with a recruiter who feels like she has been ghosting me. I need to make another decision with a company by tomorrow but have not heard back from this other company since I’ve interviewed last Monday.
