You've been with your current company for 7 years, by now you should have a good idea on whether or not there's potential to grow in your current role/company. If you don't think they'll promote you anytime soon then you should probably jump ship I think.
Yes lately I am getting a feeling that’s it’s not what you know here but more of who you know. In the current position for two years now and the new position is the same but with more money. My concern is that new company’s technology and processes could be old, trying to catch up with the market whereas current one is a pioneer in the field.
Networking is always the most important when it comes to internal promos. Think about how the new company’s growth prospects look like versus your current company. It might be more of a case of job security than a straight comparison of income and tech.
