Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

That’s what I’m feeling. That salaries haven’t gone up really.
Our starter salaries are $35K. Dentsu is terrible. Those salaries are like 1993. Publicis starter salaries more like $50 on up. This is in NYC. When it gets to the top jobs; management gets base salaries but a lot more is based on bonuses. Creatives get higher bases. And shouldn’t they?
I think advertising has mirrored other industries in the US, where wages are not increasing enough compared to the inflation rate.
The other day I stumbled upon my 2015 tax return (my second year in the industry after college). I reported $35k in wages, which included significant overtime payments.
I wonder if it’s both wage stagnation and earlier-in-career title bumps working in tandem? I’ve met CDs with five years total experience. And CDs with 15+. 🤷🏼♀️ A lot of GCDs I know don’t manage teams. It’s all confusing now.

I know a writer who started his career in the mailroom of a multinational agency 20 years ago on 25K. It was his job to open the ECD’s mail and put it on his desk. That was how he knew the ECD made his annual salary, every month. So that’s 300K. In those days they didn’t have so many CDs though. I don’t even know if the CCO title existed yet.

Lowest CD salary I’ve seen is 145. 200-225 is common. Much higher also happens, but not to folks like me.
I remember hearing about an ECD who made over a million a year. He personally brought in a big automotive client though. And this was like 15 years ago.
