Yup, never hurts to ask. A good planner will always negotiate for their client
yes. The key is being willing to walk away. Even if you comeback later. Ask is that the best you can do? can they lower the minimum. Add stuff at no charge, if a hotel negotiate the room block at the same time. Just remember every large ticket item has a negotiable price tag. Car, house, youe wedding venue
Maybe because I was booking only 9 months out, I found this not to be true. And a willingness to include some of the add-ons for the "set price"
They all say it's fixed.
Hmmmm. Sales aa a moniker. Don't you negotiate literally all the time?
Sorry OP. thought a response was yours that wasn't. Should not have been flip. Every vendor will act like they are fixed fee and sell certain packages. With very few exceptions, when I said, but I don't want x but do want y, everyone was willing to customize. Once you get them off the set package, it is easier to negotiate the price. This worked for photographers, videographers, photobooth, venues. I was able to get a resort venue to lower their minimum, get everything food/beverage related charged the day of as part of the minimum (for example all food for bridal party during the day), upgrade to champagne from presecco, use of their piano during cocktail hour, and bunch of other stuff. Heck, I even got my videographer to agree to not take the final payment until the product was ready.( I was told no one does that) Nothing you are buying is off the rack. Almost everyone is a small independent. So do negotiate. And be fun. If the vender thinks you will be easy/fun to work with versus a bridezilla they will be more likely to work with you. Or, you can find someone who will.
