If there are, I've never worked one. That just seems stressful, what's the incentive if you can't even earn big?
Yep! The first sales job that I worked had the option of a salary or commission. I was very young so I opted for the salary option since I wasn't doing a lot of B2B and I actually made more money that way than when I eventually transitioned to commission. Eventually I made more on commission as my skills got better but for a while I would have preferred the salary.
The option between commission or salary is super nice - I did the same thing when I first started
Amazon
Yes, I work in that capacity right now. We have an end of year bonus, but it’s really up to the discretion of the CEO and not really based on performance. I love the company and my coworkers, but there needs to be a reorganization of the incentive and compensation structure for sales roles.
I did, honestly if the pay is good enough it takes a lot of the pressure and uncertainty out of the equation
No I have not. I personally couldn't take it. It's base salary and commission for me.
Advisory Directors and Partners
As a sales manager, yes. It was so bizarre to me. I applied for it, didn’t get it and they were very arrogant about the amount of money they were paying in base salary which was laughable because there were plenty of sales manager and even IC roles that could easily out earn it. I’m glad I didn’t get it thought because even though the salary was satisfactory, I was worried about staying motivated. I’ve always been in a commissioned role even when I used to bartend if you count tips. I’ve never just had a flat salary.

Yup, Lowe’s. My current position..
Yep, my first job was a non incentive sales job. And once I worked my way up to management, it became increasingly hard to motivate my staff and even myself at times.
Yes but I ignored them
Yes, Best Buy or any other retail job
Some retail jobs do pay some type of bonus. Few and far between but yes-they do
Maybe to start your career but that’s it
My previous job was like that
