For myself, I’d like to earn one professional certification, attend an in-person networking event/conference and start my job search. I’m expecting it to take nearly a year to find something new, so I plan on starting that in Q3 2025.

I’m getting put up for manager a year early. I have PPMD ,SM, and M support. Pretty much support from all the key individuals on my team and in my service line. Since it is a year early if i don’t get promoted this round I know it’ll come mid year but I do expect a good salary increase still without the promo. If I don’t get the promo nor a salary increase that I’m okay with, how do I let my partner know that I will begin to entertain outside offers? some of which have offered the manager role.

Any PMs have experience with moving off of Advantage (aka Webvantage aka Aqua) and onto a different PMS? Toying with the idea to suggest a move to Kantata/MavenLink.

I need your views and suggestions. I have two doubts:
1. Is it fair to leave an organisation (big brand) after a year as the environment is real toxic and there’s no career growth as well in terms of good work.
2. If I have to make a switch do I really have to target big brands only or can try for medium and small size companies too.

Taking my shot in tech sales. Consulting was great experience but enjoyed the relationship and BD aspect more and didn’t see myself climbing to partner. Starting in a junior BD Rep role to learn prospecting and earn quota history. Took a big paycut for the potential future earnings as an Account Exec. Did I dun goof? Probably. But I’ll regret it forever if I didn’t take my chance now when I’m still single and young-ish.

Ex-consultant now in marketing. Used to be an avid follower here and got great insights on companies when trying to exit consulting so thought I’d try here for advice. Outside of FAANG, what are good large CA-based tech companies that provide good pay, WLB, and culture? DD has great people and WLB, but pay is low and you’re not given the tools and resources to succeed + truly make an impact. Google and Apple are ideal but need backups. Like is Salesforce still good? A company along those lines.

I am currently working as a delivery manager for a data science project where I manage both ML and DE teams. I am not sure what career path should I follow.

Should I move into either a core technical data science/data engineering role or move into a techno-managerial role like a program or project manager? What role would be best in terms of money, growth, and job security?

Which practice group (m&a, capital markets, or funds) would be best for someone who genuinely doesn’t care about this job/law but wants to stay in biglaw (NYC) as long as possible? Some folks say m&a is more “intellectually stimulating” and I wonder, for that reason, perhaps capital markets might suit me? Can we talk about privacy vendors? We are looking for a platform to handle data inventory and/or data discovery, as well as automating the privacy impact assessment process.
