No your employer can only verify that you were employed there
Have you tried opting out of some of the meetings? 'Due to existing obligations, I am unable to attend this meeting, but I am happy to take any actions resulting from the discussion' etc

So, have scored an interview with a hiring manager, but, was told by recruiter that I have to fill out a preliminary security background check first, before the interview. I got hired by my present company about 8 months ago, and had government check then.
Will this priliminary check sent up any flags to my current employer and/or the government?
TIA
What firm?
Ok, further to add to the story...I probably forgot to include in original post ..
This primary check is for government background clearance availability...
Which I already have . Am concerned that current employer may catch wind.
Also, the potential firm is asking this before final rounds of interviews, before the possibility of an offer. I don't want to risk my present position if there isn't an offer on the table. Do I have a reason to be concerned? Will this set anything off? Potential firm is asking for pre security to be filled out by March 11th. 🥺
I wouldn’t worry. These are standard in the govt space and don’t include talking to your current employer. Usually it’s a check list that include a background check. People do background checks for all sorts of things including volunteer positions and high-end car test drives. I wouldn’t worry about it at all.
What firm?
No, you should not worry. They are verifying your clearance, which is held by the government, not your employer. Ask the recruiter if your nervous. It’s a legit question/concern.
Ask the recruiter if they can verify your existing clearance via JPAS using just your SSN. That will not notify your current employer and should be all they need to know.
