How can we shift from SCM to Project manager? Thoughts ?

I have a business idea in the VR/AR space utilizing AI. However, I lack skill sets to evaluate viability or to create an MVP. Neither do I have a network to tap into.

My plan is taking classes to deepen my knowledge while joining and actively participating in communities to find collaborators.

Does this approach make sense or do you recommend other approaches? If it makes sense, do you have any recommendations for classes or communities?

Even without LinkedIn, I see a lot of people younger than me in much better roles. They started off with relevant jobs right out of college. I graduated in 2009 when the economy tanked and worked in retail for years before I was finally able to land in corporate. Does anybody else struggle with this as well? I can really use some direction. My background, I've worked 2 years in strategy and am currently coming off an exhausting year 2 in investment banking. I didn't particularly enjoy either role and am not interested in moving over to the buy-side or some monotonous FP&A role. Everybody says there's exit-ops aplenty, but I find myself with less options and even more picky than I did as an ambitious T2 undergrad student. Where do I go from here?

I informally accepted a position at Silicon Valley Bank, after attempting to negotiate a higher wage, the recruiter advised this wasn't a possibility. However, while completing the background check I received another offer from Wells Fargo. The SVB position most aligns with my career objectives but the Wells Fargo position pays more (13k difference). I want the SVB position however I would like to leverage the Wells Fargo position to negotiate a higher salary. Any suggestions on strategy?

Out of curiosity as a startup owner in the data analytics consulting space, what’s the line where an MBB or similar says no to a project budget wise? At what $$$ point does a company get turned away?

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Our process, roles and skillsets seem way outdated but I wasn’t sure if it was just my opinion or if this is just how it works. For example, we have no CTO or tech leads. Our digital producers feel more like project managers than actual producers. Account Management is just traditional, no real digital knowledge. Feels layered and dated.

Customers are giving us bad experience ratings because we don’t offer them the solutions they want. Our company won’t allow us to offer those solutions, but the manager punishes us for low ratings anyway. I don’t get how they’re ok with that.
