Hello Verizon fellows, In Deloitte, there's a facility to claim a certain reimbursement for purchasing mobile devices through their portal or something. Similarly, do VDSI employees have any discounts or reimbursement for purchasing devices through Verizon? If so, kindly let me know how to check it out. Thanks in advance.

I wholeheartedly love Jacksonville, i heard someone in our office the other day say "we don't have the best of everything but we do have everything" which i find fairly true. There's beaches, food, a riverwalk, local markets, museums, wildlife, a huge parks system, 3 minor league teams and an NFL team. If you're the type to go out every weekend you may get bored of the bar scene and lack of variety there but I'm more of a once a month type to go out and find it decent enough for that. Can be very family friendly as well but if you have kids would stick to St. John's County for the schools.
As for Macquarie....AVP is one level above manager in the Jax office which i think is equivalent to senior manager in NYC office. You can negotiate for decent starting pay but I will warn you part of why the Jax office is so big is because they were looking to move as much back office stuff here as they could as a cost saving measure. This means you can negotiate decent starting but within a year or two will have newbies a level below you out earning you. Also means they are not interested in keeping up with the rising COL in FL as more folks like yourself with NY money from selling their houses up there or people w HCOL remote jobs move here and drive up the COL. Feel free to DM me for Jax or Macquarie advice if you don't want to put a ton of details here but your WLB will fully depend on what subset of accounting you are in. The way it's set up is they support different businesses for LEC or legal entity control, and then people call the regular financial accountants "finance" a lot of the time, and then there's tax. From what I can tell the WLB from best to worst goes Finance, LEC, tax.
There is also a 3 day a week in office policy right now that is tracked by badge swipes and enforced. They tout flexible work as much as they can but how flexible it is really depends on the team and your specific manager. It is an extremely open office concept where literally no one has an office, hot desking every day, not enough walls or furniture to muffle noise so everyone brings noise cancelling headphones and ends up yelling over each other to try to be heard on their calls since there aren't enough meeting rooms either. Besides wlb culture is good, the people are nice, everyone is always ready to help, they do lots of cultural events IE we had Irish food and dancers for St Patrick's day, had an event for Chinese new year, the employee networking groups are really involved
Oh, is it that bad . Thank you for your input.
