Do people proactively begin finding work when they know they may be low on work soon? Or do they just wait until they actually don’t have enough work to fill their days? A friend of mine works with TCS as an Analyst, his base location is Bengaluru but he is been working from his hometown in Lucknow since the first COVID lockdown. Currently an engineer in MCOL area with 4 years experience (post graduating, not counting experience before/during college and large side gigs). I have a BS/MS/PhD in engineering and an MBA in business analytics. Currently making 100k as an engineer IV. As an engineer with a functional knowledge (but no former training) in IT and data analytics, what are the best avenues to get to 200k without changing fields and starting at an entry level position (or moving to a HCOL area)?

I’m seriously enatkng to get into an SE role and have been searching for Associate Sales Engineers that do NOT require SE experience since I’ve none. It’s proving to be difficult.
