What does a Technical UXR interview look like? I have my first one tomorrow! I am mostly preparing by practicing research planning and reviewing different methods, but if anyone has recommendations on how to better prepare, I would appreciate it!

I’m a newer registered nurse (2 years) and want to get into remote work. I keep getting denied due to lack of experience but to even get the job I have now (case manager) the company knew one of my family members and they gave me a chance to interview because of that. For these remote companies where I don’t have connections how can I transition over?

I recently joined Swiss Re at 30lpa, pretty good manager and work culture. Got a hike of 10% in 3 months without me asking for it. But got an offer from another company which I was interviewing for before joining here and they are offering a base of 45lpa. Now I am unsure how I convey this to my manager coz I want to stay here but at the same time I am salivating over this new offer and wish I get similar numbers here. Is it worth raising a discussion? If yes what would be a subtle way to do so?

But one peculiar thing is happening. I have appeared for 4 Cognizant interviews but in all I have been rejected. Whereas most of my friends had easily cleared Cognizant. I am switching tech, so I am a bit concerned like whether my knowledge is too shallow😐

Saw a job on LinkedIn applied for it and the CEO of the startup reached out to me saying he was game to move to the next stage of the process. Spoke to hiring manager and they even offered another position which matched my skills. Scheduled a full panel interview. Met with the team had a great chat, Founder even said "I guess you can start right away"..Hiring manager calls later says they'll update then boom that generic email hits my inbox. At this point you're just like arrrrrrgh😩

I also have PGDM in finance, and my skills include SQL, python, PowerBI, tableau, familiar with Knime, Alteryx and also PySpark. Interview tomorrow for a tax associate opening at RSM. Been working in a mid-size city (different firm) that is about 70 minutes from this new home office in a larger metro. How flexible is WFH or dual model going forward post Covid? Am interested in this position and going to tax, but not be able to relocate for family reasons. Today I got an call from HR that due to economic recession we are going to delay your date of joining by 2 months. My notice period was of 3 months. So total duration would be 5 months. Infact even after that too they didn't send me revised offer letter. There is something wrong with this company.

I think I may have finally had it.

A couple of decades in this field and now I want to just walk away. The grind in tech is soul-destroying, and the vast majority of the time, coworkers outside of UX have no idea what it is, what it’s for, and how it’s applied. I’m at my wits end and the constant problem is a kind of “willful misunderstanding” of our process and value.

After wasting too many years on design immature companies, It’s senselessly depressing. I’ve given away too much of myself.

UX Designers - how long did it take for you to find a junior role when starting out in UX?

Trying to get out of consulting. Ux is so watered down and I’m terrified that it’s going to stunt my growth. I’m overall just not happy. Sure, consulting pats decently but I love the field of UX and just get stuck making wireframes that the customer requests. The field is so competitive right now and I can’t seem to land another job. Hi Everyone! I have a background in health research. I received my first offer as a ux researcher 3 (1 step below senior) which is pretty competitive compared to my former field. It is with fanduel for 120k base, 6% bonus (8% next year since I’m not starting in jan) , I believe 10% in equity (12.5% next year) total comp 130. I’m extremely grateful but just wanted to see if this was acceptable for the industry. I’m mixed methods and they want to build out their quant side. Should I accept as is?
