My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. Non white EEs make up about 35% of the company rn.

General question: Is there any room in corporate America for real, actionable DE&I discussions and initiatives? I've observed so many corporate versions become an advertising strategy (SM posts, diversity reports) without doing the actual work (increasing representation in senior leadership, salary analyses, having an effective reporting system for bias). Is this just how it is?

Latinx - help! We used this term in our diversity spotlight discussing Hispanic Heritage Month. One individual said that in English a group of Latinos would just be Latins to be gender neutral. I understand the word is controversial but is “Latins” grammatically correct? I assume we should just say Latin Americans, but trying to understand if Latins is also accurate.

I am the only immigrant with an accent in my office and it’s almost a daily thing now that my bosses/coworkers would explain terms to me that I already know. I’d often freeze when they do that because my first reaction is always confused. How do you talk about it with them after the fact especially when it seems like it’s not a big deal to them?

How do I transition from a Senior Executive Assistant role to Project Management? Ideally I would like to work in tech. How should I go about this? Question for everyone; what are some of the better job boards for underrepresented groups in tech? Non-traditional job boards that promote inclusivity and diversity hiring?

Does anyone have any metrics/ benchmarks they could share on diversity hires? We're putting goals together for 2023 and our senior leadership wants 30% of all candidates interviewed and hired to be gender or ethnic diverse.

We all have beautiful names and we should all be addressed by those names and the pronouns that we identify with. I particularly like Erik and you can refer to me as He/Him or They/Them.

At MNP, we foster an inclusive and safe environment for all to openly share their pronouns. We respect the pronouns that you choose to identify with.

In honor of National Voter Registration Day, The New Yorker released the transcript of a previously unpublished interview with James Baldwin, who gave a first-hand account of "Freedom Day 1963," a Black voter-registration drive in Selma, Alabama.
