I'd really like to have a workshop on microaggressions and unconscious bias? It will be subtle but I find the impact will be huge!

I think it can land if it’s a facilitator who’s a person of color, get an executive who’s white to be the ally/sponsor/demonstrator and you’re set. Don’t take oppties from POC because you’re worried about audience landing.

I would like to discuss how to navigate being the only person of color in an office

I think people are severely underserved on information about how not having a college degree or having any sort of criminal record can hurt you in the workforce

My company is in need of a update online, could use your opinions! We need to better showcase our culture (caring, supportive, fun, intelligent IT industry leaders) as well as diversity. We are predominantly white still but making strides to improve here. What’s the best way to approach? I don’t want to seem disingenuous or that we are singling out our diverse employees (asking for photos). We have a remote and on-site workforce about 350+ EEs. General question: Is there any room in corporate America for real, actionable DE&I discussions and initiatives? I've observed so many corporate versions become an advertising strategy (SM posts, diversity reports) without doing the actual work (increasing representation in senior leadership, salary analyses, having an effective reporting system for bias). Is this just how it is?

Latinx - help! We used this term in our diversity spotlight discussing Hispanic Heritage Month. One individual said that in English a group of Latinos would just be Latins to be gender neutral. I understand the word is controversial but is “Latins” grammatically correct? I assume we should just say Latin Americans, but trying to understand if Latins is also accurate.

I am the only immigrant with an accent in my office and it’s almost a daily thing now that my bosses/coworkers would explain terms to me that I already know. I’d often freeze when they do that because my first reaction is always confused. How do you talk about it with them after the fact especially when it seems like it’s not a big deal to them?

Does anyone have any metrics/ benchmarks they could share on diversity hires? We're putting goals together for 2023 and our senior leadership wants 30% of all candidates interviewed and hired to be gender or ethnic diverse.

We all have beautiful names and we should all be addressed by those names and the pronouns that we identify with. I particularly like Erik and you can refer to me as He/Him or They/Them.

In honor of National Voter Registration Day, The New Yorker released the transcript of a previously unpublished interview with James Baldwin, who gave a first-hand account of "Freedom Day 1963," a Black voter-registration drive in Selma, Alabama. Baldwin's descriptions from that day are so vivid and detailed that you can feel the fear and anger of the event. If you have a couple of minutes, I highly recommend you read it.
