Hello fishes, I currently work for one of Deloitte's Asian member firms and recently received an offer to move to their London office. Supply Chain offering, Senior Consultant level. 65k base + 5k benefits. I have 3.5 years of experience in the same offering with Deloitte. Can I push for 70k base?

It’s £5k The worst they can say is no, so why not ask and find out?

My impression is that the offer is good as described above by other people, however I would still try to ask more, maybe in the form of a sign on bonus. Changing jobs is tiring, this is the only moment when you’re at the opposite sides of the table and have at least some negotiating power on them, so I would use this opportunity to max out your offer. You can ask for a bit more, if they say no try to push for a sign on. Worst thing they say no 2-3 times and you accept as is.

They’ll probably say no as 68k is the start of the manager band. The offer they’ve given you is pretty good

like

I'm in the same boat except at the very beginning stage of the interview process. Can I DM you for some info?

Sure

You cant. And wont. They’ll have assessed you for Manager and decided SC is appropriate and go from there. If/when you promote (18 months time earliest as we’re at mid-years now), you’ll go at the bottom of the Manager band at 68.

Always ask for more if you want to - don’t listen to anyone who says otherwise. If they cannot give you a higher base, maybe they can give you a sign on bonus.

Yeah do this, appear difficult and watch the offer get pulled.

There are condos in JC and brooklyn for 400k which doesn’t seem too bad but dont know if I’m being way unrealistic. I’d appreciate any advice!

Would love to hear from moms whose babies went to daycare / school right after maternity leave (no nanny etc). Due in March and on the list for a stellar Montessori daycare / preschool near us to start in August (school year) when baby is 4-5 months old. Feeling guilty and struggling to decide if keeping baby home a year with a nanny is better, starting school in 2023? However, I’m worried about cost - we really would not be able to afford a nanny in our city on our salaries. Advice welcome!

I’m a senior with dreams of going in-house. The maternity leave at the firm is great so the plan was to have a kid before I leave, but of course we’re struggling to conceive. My matters are stale and I feel very disconnected from my group. I can see my mid-levels getting ready to step into my shoes. I guess I just feel like I should be gone, but I’m not, and it’s really hard I’m struggling with depression and burn out and going off birth control didn’t help. (cont)
